What a Wonderful Day

On a wonderful day like today
I defy any cloud to appear in the sky
Dare any raindrop to plop in my eye
On a wonderful day like today
----Anthony Newley

So yesterday I ranted and said I felt better. No Rant today, but I feel fantastic!!!!!
Here is the process:

Step 1. We get approved as an adoptive home

Step 2. The TPR is granted.

Step 3. We wait 45 days to see if an appeal is filed.

Step 4. After 45 days or after the appeal is denied we have our disclosure meeting....Ought to be interesting since we know more about (S) then they do. :)

Step 5. We sign paperwork and bring a portion of it to the court house where we get an adoption package to fill out.

Step 6. We have our fingerprints done'........ yet again.

Step 7. We get a court date.

Step 8. (S) is legally what she has been in spirit. A memeber of our family.

Step 9. We post pictures of the family after the hearing so that all can see.

We finished Step 1 last month. We got past Step 2 today. That's right!!!! The TPR was granted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We found out this morning. I can't begin to tell you how excited we are. This is a wonderful day for our family.

  1. Yay!!! That is such great news!! Congratulations on being one HUGE step closer!!

  2. It is a wonderful day! I'm so glad to hear that a decision was made! Congratulations!

  3. Congratulations

  4. Yipeeee! How long should the rest of it take?

  5. Steps 3 through 9 will take anywhere from 5 to 9 months depending on whether or not there is an appeal and how backed up the courts are.

So good to know we're not the only "old folks" in this raising a baby again thing!
Your heart will want to hug you....your mind & muscles will want to kill you some days.
It took us almost 18 months to get from step 2 to step 9. Hopefully it was just our county.
    I'm very happy for you.

  7. For the record, I posted a comment when I read this AWESOME post 2 days ago.. my laptop crashed but I assumed it went thru and didn't think to double check..

    TAKE 2:
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! When I originally read this, I cried. Hard. I am SOOO beyond excited for you all. If we were neighbors we would've been over w/ a bottle of bubbly.

Hugs from out west and MERRY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!
